Roofing materials, insulation, module configuration and installation characteristics interact with one another and can also influence the system\u2019s behavior in the event of a fire. A series of tests conducted in Europe shows that adding a protective layer between the roof and the insulation can, in certain configurations, help limit the spread of flames.
