Photovoltaics accelerate in Peru: +87% in the first half

It is not only new projects that are growing: in Peru, electricity generation from photovoltaic systems is also increasing rapidly. In the first six months of 2026, generation reached 1,442 GWh, up 87% compared with the same period of the previous year. This acceleration is also being supported by new capacity entering operation, with more than 600 MW added since June 2025. Growth is particularly evident in the south of the country, where practically all the photovoltaic generation recorded in June is concentrated.

When new installed capacity translates into such a significant increase in generation, photovoltaics further consolidate their role within the electricity system. This evolution highlights the value of technologies capable of meeting the needs of projects with different characteristics and scales, an area in which Peimar brings its experience in developing photovoltaic solutions for growing international markets.
