Increasing installed capacity is only one part of the energy transformation. In Colombia, the rapid expansion of photovoltaics is highlighting another priority: ensuring that the country has electricity infrastructure capable of effectively integrating new generation capacity.
Grid development therefore becomes an essential part of the sector’s growth. New installations, adequate grid connections and transmission capacity must develop in a coordinated way so that photovoltaic potential can translate into energy that is effectively available to the system.
