Residential photovoltaics find new opportunities in Lithuania

Rooftops are no longer the only surfaces being considered for distributed photovoltaic generation. Lithuania is working to simplify the installation of photovoltaic systems on apartment balconies, potentially making self-generation accessible to more people living in multi-apartment buildings. This development broadens the very concept of residential photovoltaics. Making previously underused surfaces available for electricity generation can bring photovoltaics within reach of more households and create new opportunities for distributed generation.
As the available spaces change, the design of photovoltaic systems is evolving as well. Compactness, integration and the ability to adapt to different building characteristics are becoming increasingly important: a development that naturally aligns with Peimar’s experience in designing photovoltaic modules for a variety of residential applications and for an increasingly flexible European photovoltaic market.
